ONGOING ACTIVITIES IN FALMOUTH . . .
FALMOUTH is a very busy place year round with various cultural activities and will be even more so when the new home of the Falmouth Artists Guild is completed next spring. Click here to learn more about the Artists Guild and their ongoing classes and activities.

FASHION SHOW - the Falmouth Artists Guild will hold their 3rd annual Fashion Show & Luncheon on April 4, 2009 at the Coonamessett Inn from 11:30am - 2:00pm. For tickets @$35 and reservations, call 508.540.3304. The Fashion Show features wearable art by Stina Sayre, Carol Vincent, Sarah Peters and Bojangles. There will be a stylish silent auction and a special Guest Talk "Cocktail Culture" by Joanne Ingersoll, Curator and Department Head Costumes/Textiles, Museum of Art, Rhode Island Schol of Design. MEMBERS SHOW - To see and enjoy some nice and varied work, the Falmouth Artists Guild has a new art exhibition each month which includes summer and fall juried shows, a juried photo show and 8 members shows. Gallery and Guild hours are Tues - Fri from 9:30 to 4:00 PM, plus weekends from noon - 4:00 PM during summer hours. The Guild is located at 311 rear Main Street, Falmouth. Call 508 540-3304 for info. ART AUCTION - Cape Art & Soul - Bright & Bold features the Falmouth Artists Guild 43st Annual Art Auction. Show Preview is July 7 - 16 at the Guild, 311 rear Main Street, Falmouth. The evening auction party is July 16, 2009 from 6:30 - 10:30 PM at the Coonamessett Inn, Falmouth. Other exciting Guild events during the year include the "Wearable Art" fashion show and auction on April 4th, at the Coonamessett Inn and "Chair-ity Bash" masquerade party and auction at Highfield Hall in October. ARTS ALIVE - is an all day event managed by Connect and scheduled for June 19 - 21, 2009. It is held annually in Falmouth along Main Street and on the library lawn and features a wide variety of activities. Links outside Falmouth include: the Arts foundation of Cape Cod supports, promotes and celebrates the arts and culture of Barnstable County, Cape Cod Arts is the guide to art, artists and organizations on Cape Cod, the Cataumet Arts Center is a year round gallery and art center on Scraggy Neck in Bourne, the Cahoon Museum of American Art is in Cotuit, Cape Cod Ballet is located in Barnstable, the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis, the Children's Museum in Mashpee, and Cape Cod Life in Bourne, produces the beautiful annual "Cape Cod Arts" which features artist's and galleries all over the Cape and Islands.

These nearby art centers offer great classes and top notch exhibitions all year long. The Cape Cod Art Association is in Barnstable on Cape Cod, the Cotuit Center for the Arts in nearby Cotuit on Route 28, provides top notch exhibitions, theatre and art classes for adults, teens and kids, the Duxbury Art Association is on the south shore of Boston north of Plymouth, and the South Shore Art Center is in Cohasset between Hingham and Scituate.
