ARTIST'S STATEMENT

Some thoughts:
Creating art is not easy, but if blessed with a degree of talent and strong motivation, you can fly over the speed bumps that impede your way to self-discovery.

Motivation and belief is critical because without it, you can think and talk, but not do. True motivation and belief in self is the critical gift that keeps you on track during the worst of storms and aids in the discovery, enjoyment and sharing of the gifts you've been given.

Yes, these gifts were given not to hoard, but to share and by so doing, further drive you on this great path of discovery from the feedback received from others.

This greatest discovery that I've made is that you don't really do art for yourself, it's done to be shared and you will certainly know it when you do it right.

Other things:
David has worked a full career as an artist which includes working as a graphic and book designer, a scientific and medical illustrator, a creative and sports photographer, a printmaker and a painter.

I've always been a painter and have found that my experiments provide the foundation to better enable me to solve problems as a designer. Working in different mediums always gives new perspectives to the visual problems one is working on at the time.

Working in different ways sometimes draws criticism, but so what, we are given brains to work with, to help discover and broaden our perspective and our levels of skill the better able we will be to solve problems and to discover our highest level of talent.
